"Good morning,
I hope you and your families are staying safe and well.
As I’m sure you have seen on the news, New York State is currently on “pause.” All non-essential businesses are now closed, and those that remain open are facing reduced staff or are overextended with work. Because of the pause, employers who are also on the CR 59 lists are now worried about missing their deadlines.
If you are contacted by an employer who is unable or unwilling to meet in person to complete their inspection, please have them send me an e-mail requesting an extension. I am granting extensions as they are requested for employers who are not already non-compliant. Generally this will include employers from the January 2020 list who have not already had the consultation (these employers are now late, but they should contact me anyway), and employers from the July 2019 and October 2019 lists who have not completed their recommendations yet and are unable to work on them while their businesses are closed or understaffed. The initial visit should not be done over the phone at this time unless the employer has no physical locations in the state.
Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns."
Thank you,
