COVID-19 Opioid Overdose Prevention Program Guidance
"Dear Colleague:
COVID-19 is changing many things for New Yorkers. One thing that hasn’t changed is the importance of community responders being equipped with the knowledge and the naloxone necessary to stop opioid overdoses from becoming fatal. Indeed, the need for overdose response capacity in the community may be greater now than ever before.
Attached is COVID-19 Guidance for Opioid Overdose Prevention Programs in New York State. Although this guidance is being sent to all registered programs, its focus is the training of community responders rather than public safety, EMS or school personnel. This document complements other Federal, State and local guidance.
If you have any question, please direct them to overdose@health.ny.gov.
Thank you for being on the front lines in saving lives!"
