NSC estimates 502 people may perish in preventable traffic crashes over the #Thanksgiving holiday period, which begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, and concludes Sunday, Dec. 1. #ImpairedDriving is of particular concern, because during the Thanksgiving Day period, 35% of fatalities involved an alcohol-impaired driver. In addition to driving free of impairment, NSC urges drivers to buckle up, slow down, drive free of distraction and practice defensive driving.
